ALL CALLS — 90-Second Vetting Script

Hello, this is Nathan. Just to confirm, are you shopping for a final expense policy?

We work with over (40) A-rated final expense companies, and every one of them will insure you if you have a checking account with a local bank or credit union.

Do you own a checking account?

All of the final expense companies will require your social security number and banking information when we apply. I don’t need that information now, but I just want to be transparent with you, okay?

I want to be very respectful of your budget… So, is there a specific price you’re trying to keep this under per month? Or how much coverage are you looking for?

  • What’s your name? (or verify info on screen)
  • If we find the perfect policy, when would you like to make the 1st payment to get insured?
  • Are you employed, retired, or disabled?
  • What’s your annual or monthly income? (Won’t recommend over 10% of income.)
  • What got you thinking about final expense coverage?
  • Do you want a traditional burial or cremation?
  • Who do you want to leave the money to?
  • What’s your date of birth? What’s your email?
Leads Script
Hey _____, my name is Nathan. I’m calling about the life insurance or final expense ad you saw online (“a while back” if old lead). I have your birthdate as _____. Is that correct? Be ready for objection.
Live Transfers Script
Hello, this is Nathan. (Agent transfers client) Hello _____. How are you today? Just for verification, I have your birthdate as _____. (Verify anything if no DOB) Is that correct?

Objections & Rebuttals

“NOT INTERESTED”

No problem. I’ll take you out of our system. Did you already get some coverage?

That’s great! Just curious — if we could get you an additional $5,000–$10,000 in coverage for the same price, would that help your family?

If you haven’t had a recent policy review, I strongly encourage you to check the 2025 state-regulated programs. Life insurance can get cheaper over time as carriers release improved policies. For comparison, how much coverage do you currently have?

Oh, that makes sense. Let me take you out of our system, but really quick — are you not interested because you applied and were declined before, or because you think it would cost too much?

Got it. Every carrier has different underwriting rules, and we work with more than 40 companies. A quick pre-qualification can check for approvals without committing to anything today. Would you like me to see which carriers might accept you?

Totally fair. We have plans starting around $10 a month, and I always keep options under about 10% of your income. If I can show you something in that range, would you want to take a quick look?

“ALREADY GOT IT”

No problem. I will take you out of our system. One second while I update that.

If you already have coverage: Before I let you go, if I can get you an additional $5,000–$10,000 in coverage for the same price, would that help your family?

If you have not had a recent policy review, the newest 2025 state-regulated programs may offer better pricing because carriers keep improving their products. For comparison, how much coverage do you have right now?

We work with more than 40 top carriers, and based on your profile you may qualify for strong, inexpensive options. Who would you like to leave the money to?

“CAN YOU CALL ME BACK”

Of course, I can call you back. What time works best for you?

Before I go, do you currently have any life insurance, and who would you want to leave the money to? I can note that now so our follow-up is quick and on point.

“I DIDN’T DO THIS”

It was probably a while back. No problem, we have most of your options sorted already. Who would your beneficiary be if you were approved?

“I CAN’T AFFORD”

I completely understand. We have coverage options that start at about $10 per month, and it only takes a few minutes to review them. At the very least, you will have the information for the future when the timing is better.

Do you have any life insurance right now, and who would you want to leave the money to?

Agent: Alright _____, we’re just about finished — and congratulations again on getting your coverage in place today!

I’m going to text you my digital business card right after this call. It has my photo, name, email, and the Gameplan Financial website so you always know exactly how to reach me.

You’ll also receive an email confirmation with all your policy information, and within about 7 to 10 business days you’ll get your official policy packet in the mail from the insurance carrier.

Once that arrives, I’ll give you a quick follow-up call to make sure you received everything. During that call, I’ll walk you through the policy and point out where everything is — your coverage amount, monthly premium, and beneficiary information.

If you ever need to make updates — increase or decrease coverage, change your draft date or banking info, or update your beneficiary — just reach out to me directly. I’m your agent for life, and my job is to make sure this plan keeps fitting your family’s needs.

Also, if you refer a friend or family member who qualifies and gets a policy, I’ll send you a $25 gift card as a thank-you — Amazon, Walmart, wherever you like to shop.

And most importantly, when that time comes and your family needs help, we’ll be right here to guide your beneficiary through the claims process and make sure they receive the benefits quickly and smoothly.

Welcome to the Gameplan family! I’m honored to be your agent, and I’ll stay in touch to keep everything current and make sure you and your loved ones are always protected.

Application Objections

“WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT”

This is just the first step to see if the carrier will accept you, and there is no payment today. Most clients apply to confirm eligibility. Does that make sense?

If you are still hesitant: After the first payment and once the policy is in force, there is a 30-day free-look period, which is a money-back guarantee. You have another full month to decide while insured. If you decide against it, you can call me or the carrier and it will be canceled with no questions asked. Would you like me to text you the carrier’s phone number?

“DON’T WANT TO GIVE PAYMENT”
  • We can three-way call the carrier now to verify the contract and answer any questions about payment security.
  • I can invite you to a quick Zoom and share my screen so you can see exactly where the application asks for payment information.
  • (Mutual of Omaha / American Amicable — direct billing only): We can either delay payment until we are close to your start date (I will email you the form when ready) or we can handle it now. I will provide the carrier’s phone number so you can make changes or cancel at any time. The application clearly shows the exact draft date.

Quick Education: Term vs. Whole Life

TERM

Term insurance covers you for a set period (10, 20, or 30 years). It usually provides a higher amount of coverage at a lower cost because it can expire without paying a claim. It is best for protecting a mortgage or income while responsibilities are high.

WHOLE LIFE

Whole life coverage is permanent and never expires as long as premiums are paid. It guarantees a payout and is great for final expenses or leaving a legacy. It also builds cash value that you can borrow if needed.

Which fits best — Term or Whole Life?

If you are leaning toward Term: Many advisors suggest 7–10× your annual income, and we will tailor the amount to your budget.
